Ep2: Kompass and his Temple of Bass

“Be true to the creative spark or the voice inside that wants to be let out!
That is success with music.”

On Waves Episode 2 we welcome the world-traveling Music Producer, DJ and Sound Engineer, Nolan Watt aka KOMPASS. We explore his musical beginnings in Santa Cruz, his gymnastics background, his days playing guitar and bass in rock/jazz/metal inspired bands and the film scoring degree he received from Boston’s Berkeley College of Music.

The Kompass brand of music began in 2018 and incorporates live-recorded instrumentation over a mix of Bass, Downtempo and World Rhythms. Some describe his music as, “Temple Bass,” because his exquisitely crafted productions create immersive environments for the melodies to dance inside of.

Inspiration for this chat came from the several tracks Kompass and Fllow have collaborated on. The next collaboration is a Kompass remix of Eastern Wind by Sudakra, featuring Fllow on vocals. Stay tuned for the release in the upcoming months!
